The stern tube is a hollow tube passing at the lower stern part of the ship carrying stern shaft and connecting it to the propeller out at sea
Material :
Technical Requirement:
1.The material of forward bearing housing and after bearing housing are made of casting steel, the chemical composition and mechanical properties as follow table:

2.The castings need to be heat treated to eliminate internal stress.

3.The material of connecting pipe is 20# seamless pipe,connect with the forward and after bearing housing by welding method.

4.After the stern tube assembly, should do 0.2MPa hydraulic pressure test and no leakage in 5minutes
